HINO says it displayed its 300 and 500 Series hybrid trucks at the Victorian Transport Association (VTA) recent Safety and Productivity Drive Day.
According to Hino, the vehicles on display were its 300 Series hybrid light-duty truck alongside a 500 Series hybrid evaluation vehicle, both of which received strong interest from government groups.
Hino says it is using hybrid vehicles from across the Toyota Group in collaboration with the VTA to educate government and fleet buyers about the technology. A hybrid truck improves productivity because it reduces the amount of fuel required to move freight, therefore making the whole freight movement task more cost-efficient.
The Hino 300 Series hybrid is said to be proving popular as it enables councils to stand behind their green policies and cut their emissions. It also provides potential fuel savings of more than 30% compared with a similar-sized conventional truck.
