Fire suppression system gets the thumbs up

WORMALD has released a vehicle fire suppression system that complies with Australian Standard AS 5062-2006.

According to the company, the Foam Water Spray Vehicle Fire Suppression system has undergone rigorous fire and system component stress tests to pass the approval, and is now CSIRO ActivFire listed.

Wormald says the system was developed for fire suppression in engine and transmission compartments, as well as brakes and hydraulic areas of earthmoving and quarrying vehicles.

A foam water spray system discharges a continuous stream of liquid foam for approximately 60seconds to rapidly suppress flames and cool hot surfaces.

The system features high-quality stainless steel foam storage containers and is available in a range of manual actuation or automatic system release versions.
